15 June 2006 – fluidtoons!

This week:
Mostly uncaffienated drinks with Alex, Graham, Kate.
Attended the ATL film fest showing of Brett’s fluidtoons + R. Thomas!
Plans were made for an upcoming accordion attack!

Since last week:
Graham + ChucK rocked the laptop battle (got into finals).

8 June 2006 – atlhack for the lonely

Since Last Week:
Luke- wrote a wiki parser in antlr.
Vinny- wrote a parser for set description grammer in Java using javacc.
Graham- preparing to do SWIMM user study.

This week:
Vinny- hacked Electropaint to accept OSC.
Luke- ate the sandwich cookie of oblivion.
Graham- worked on laptop battle music.

1 June 2006 – the longest dance marathon lasted a half-year

Since Last Week:
Andrew- is going to be an RA at GHP.
  went photographing in Atlantic Station, Midtown, Five Points.
Erik- interviewed for a job.
Graham- started reading dissertation on learning musical meaning.
Alex- got ready for CampICE. learning wxPython for paper organizer.
Vinny- was bludgeoned mercilessly by asdf-install.
  blogged-nostalgic about his childhood.

Tonight-
Alex and Graham- SWIMM (ijcai or bust).
Vinny- getting clsql up and working for OpenMcl (asdf sucks).
Andrew- trying to come up with a "World Records" theme for his hall.
Erik- left.

25 May 2006 – hacker social

Luke- wrote an application to annotate sync points in DVD movies.
  currently reading Valis – PKDs "pink light" theory.
Alex- learning wxPython so he can make his paper organizer.
Martin- working for a CMS company in Buckhead.
  FileIO in ChucK is done, need to finish networking.
Vinny- published sql code for different airline codes.
Erik- finding a way to simplify dynamic queries for homefinders.
Andrew- here for the enlightened discourse.
Graham- SWIMM and checking out of Mac clients.

18 May 2006 – everyone’s tired tonight

Luke- the world is one large causal machine.
Andrew- still reading Walden.
Alex- lots of sleeping and running.
Graham- building a client for prospective startup.
-V, A, and Erik suggested design ideas for chuck album site.
Vinny- burned out.
Erik- implemented distance search for cribster, GMaps stuff.
Stephen- openGL shaders that do force-based dimensionality reduction.
Emily- "is love rational?" she’s learning Spanish.

11 May 2006 – No Juice

Since Last Week-

Graham- graduated MS and worked on a web client, left lights on, got a jumpstart from Jody.
Erik- joined a startup doing MLS type open real estate listings.
Andrew- designing a DIY human-powered ultralight from aluminum and a bicycle.
Vinny- using javacc (.jj) to make a compiler for little slice descriptions.
Micah- will attend a PhD program in Early Christianity at Univ. Colorado in Denver.
Luke- working in San Francisco.

Stephen – working on sound -> image -> sound toolkit (Phouriershop)
Vinny – groups for behaviors – membership lists for subjects of behaviors
Alex – research paper organizer / archive
– like iTunes – an XML based library
– NLP toys as add-ons (trigram generation, keyword finding)
– citeseer + google scholar + web paper scavenging
Graham – SWIMM + startup + notes + learned about web services
Andrew – reading aloud
Luke – using schemeSH to make a virus resistant file system

Since Last Week:

Vinny-
Researched Lisp MOOs and played with scsh-surflet.
Listening to CS61A at UC Berkeley – SICP, Video of Abelson and Sussman.

Erik-
Subwey- control security circumvention for iframes.
Social bookmarking software sucks – once you give feedback it should disappear.

Graham-
Relearning web service clients on win32.

This weeks plans:

Vinny-
Reading about Lisp reflection – Translucent Procedures, Abstraction w/o Opacity. Rozas ’93 (MIT)

Erik-
Subwey- working on algorithm for efficiently traversing DOM tree.

Graham-
Simple web client.

This week’s reality:

Vinny-
Nobody on #scheme knows about scheme reflection. Reading and writing closure might break Rees security model. You could bypass any code that protected variables in the closure.

Erik-
Fixed a crapton of bugs. Started with the DOM traversal algorithm.

Graham-
Tried using the Sam Ruby Atom client, but something’s wrong with auth.
